I stumbled upon this impro from @retro.weekend.festival to the mellow sounds of Billy Holiday. What you can’t see is that weekend I had a lot of backpain, so I could only dance slow and mellow. It’s interesting how that limitation gave space for a new kind of connection to the song and partnership.

it’s New Years eve and instead of feeling hopeful, I can’t help but feel anxious of what another year in this crazy world would look like.

it’s been a year of tears: I cried in February when the war in Ukraine started and I was crying yesterday seeing @sandrogaribashvili piece on dreams deferred.

it’s also been a year of soft joy: feeling home with people, places and myself. loving softly instead of recklessly. dancing more from within than outwards.

and it’s been a year of love: I fell in love with Colombia. Tap dancing. Drums. New and old friends.

here’s to another year and everything it brings.
